Even though I don't always really understand what is going on in a football game and frequently have to ask for explanations as to why my side is cheering, I feel it is a must at least once a season to be able to call myself a true cougar. So, Suzette and I went to the game and sang "Rise and shout the cougars are out" and moved our arms up and down to the Star Wars song (or at least I did while Suzette looked at me like I was crazy). We won, of course, because BYU rocks...and I felt fulfilled. I bleed blue baby :)

My EFY Adventure :)

This summer so far has been awesome because I have had the opportunity to be an EFY counselor. I have 6 weeks in all and have done 2 so far. I don't even have words for the experience. To see the strength of the youth and feel the spirit so strong all week is really something special. I can't believe I get paid to teach the gospel and have fun. It is exhausting physically, spiritually, and emotionally but SO worth it. I felt like I have learned so much more than I could teach and grown closer to the Lord. My greatest desire is to be able to help the youth realize the joy the gospel brings and how much the savior loves them.

Persuasion and Pasta Salad

After heroically resisting the efforts of my dear friend Suzette to convince me to create a blog I finally broke down and decided to enter the wonderful world of bloggers.  "It is SO much classier than facebook" she argued when I told her that I wanted to stick with my facebook (mind you, it took some persuading for me to create a facebook back in the day too).  I was so sure that I didn't need a blog but after repeated pleas from Suzette (at least twice a day) I was convinced.  We were talking over a yummy meal of pasta salad (which demonstrates the extent of my cooking) and somehow she managed to paint the picture of the wonders of having a blog desirable enough for me to permit her to show me how to do it.  So, here I am writing my first blog and to be quite honest I am kind of excited about it :)
